One of my favorite detox fruits! Pomegranate season typically runs from October through February. There are many benefits to eating fruit in season; they are ripe, fresher, tastier and have more nutritional value.
Pomegranates are detoxifying for the reason, they are a natural diuretic. They combat water retention, have antioxidant power and anti-inflammatory properties. The combination of all three make this an awesome detoxifying fruit.
Detoxifying Lemon-Pomegranate Water
I like to take the seeds of a whole pomegranate and crush them in a glass pitcher. Then add filtered water and squeeze a lemon or add lemon slices. Chill in refrigerator. Once chilled, strain before drinking. Enjoy!
