How to Use Essential Oils for Depression

The main symptoms of depression are sadness, hopelessness, despair and no longer having a positive interest in life’s desires. (including sex) In addition, tiredness, loss of concentration and focus, indecisiveness and memory issues. This is just to name a few…

We are dealing with some tough times right now and many are concerned about the future of the United States, and the world in general. It’s not a fun way to live. But, it is our reality and it’s common to feel some depression.

As human beings, we are energy in a physical body that creates energetic vibrations.  Your attitude, thoughts, feelings, actions, words as well as body language all play into the life you’re creating for yourself and how it applies to the collective consciousness. It’s called the Ripple Effect. Everything we do and think affects the people in our lives and their responses in turn affect others.

We can make a difference! We all have the capacity to change the world in small ways for better. With that said, if you’re feeling down or mildly depressed try using essential oils to boost your mood. Essential oils are much more than their scents. They are medicine from the earth.

Essential oils that are best for mild depression:

Clary-Sage, Lavender, Bergamot, Sandalwood, Mandarin, Ylang Ylang, Chamomile roman, and Jasmine.

There are so many products on the market that are misleading regarding essential oils. Some are synthetic disguised as natural. Please make sure you’re buying 100% PURE ESSENTIAL OILS. If you are not using pure essential oils there will be no medicinal or therapeutic benefit whatsoever.

Some essential oils blend well with others. Here are a few combinations that work well together:

Ylang Ylang, Chamomile roman, Mandarin

Jasmine, Ylang Ylang

Lavender, Bergamot, Chamomile roman

Sandalwood, Ylang Ylang

Clary Sage, Lavender, Bergamot

There are many ways to use essential oils. Here are a few modes of application:

Use as a body oil, in bath or shower and the inhalation methods

If you plan on using in bath- 1-3 drops

For a body oil – add 15 drops to 1 oz. of carrier oil such as sweet almond oil or jojoba oil

Add combination to a small glass bottle- open the bottle and take a gentle sniff

Or just use one drop of oil on your hands, rub them together and cup your hands over your nose. (be sure to wash hands thoroughly)
